I'm pleased to share that I've been voted onto the Board of Trustees of the Silver State Fair Housing Council (SSFHC), a private nonprofit organization that has worked to ensure equal housing opportunity for all Nevadans since 1989.

About the Organization

SSFHC operates from offices in Reno and Las Vegas and serves communities across the state. The organization's work spans three core areas: outreach, education, and enforcement. That includes assisting community members who have experienced housing discrimination, training housing providers and industry professionals on fair housing law, and pursuing enforcement action when discrimination occurs.

The guiding principle behind the organization's work is straightforward: equal housing opportunity is a right, not a privilege. Federal and Nevada state law together protect against discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, ancestry, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.

Why I Accepted the Role

Housing has run through most of my career, whether directly through years of work in real estate, property management, and brokerage leadership, or indirectly through the marketing, operations, and community engagement work I do today. Where a person lives shapes nearly every other outcome in their life: economic mobility, educational access, health, and a sense of stability and belonging. Protecting equal access to housing is foundational community work.

I accepted the appointment because I believe the mission is essential and because I want to contribute meaningfully to it. My intent is to bring what I have to offer: strategic communications, community engagement, and two decades of business and nonprofit experience, to support the organization's continued growth and impact.

Looking Ahead

I am beginning this role with a commitment to listen, learn, and serve alongside a board and staff who have been doing this work long before I arrived. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to the work ahead.
